The NBA has launched an investigation into Brunson's altercation with fans on the sidelines.

June 5 - According to ESPN, the NBA is investigating a controversial incident between New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson and a fan during Game 1 of the NBA Finals.

The incident occurred with 29.4 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter of Game 1 of the NBA Finals. The Knicks had already established a lead, and Anunoby was taking free throws when Brunson was filmed angrily communicating with spectators. He subsequently approached the referee, Scott Foster, to speak, and later reiterated his concerns to the referee after the game.

Neither the league nor either side has released details regarding what exactly happened. Brunson did not address the matter in his post-game interview and declined to comment during the team's open media session at practice day.

Despite the off-court controversy, Brunson's performance in the game was still outstanding. He contributed 30 points, including 13 points in the final quarter without a single turnover, leading the Knicks to a comeback victory over the Spurs, overcoming a 14-point deficit in the third quarter to win 105-95.
