Hart's offensive and defensive outburst became the turning point as the Knicks reversed the Spurs' lead.
June 5th - According to the Associated Press, the Knicks rallied to defeat the San Antonio Spurs 105-95 in Game 1 of the NBA Finals.
In this game, Hart played 27 minutes, recording 15 rebounds, 6 assists, 4 steals, and 1 block. When Hart was on the court, the Knicks outscored the Spurs by 22 points, and their plus-minus was 8 points higher than any player in Game 1 of the series.
In the first half, Hart only received limited playing time due to three fouls, and the Spurs initially gained an advantage thanks to their outside shooting. However, in the second half, Hart intensified his defense, making several crucial steals and completely changing the game's rhythm. In the critical stages of the fourth quarter, he made consecutive steals, one of which directly led to Brunson's fast break score. Another steal helped the team extend their lead, becoming a key player in the Knicks securing the victory.
Brunson said after the game, "That's just who he is, he's always been like that. I can't explain it. He just has that ability and always steps up in crucial moments. That fully demonstrates his qualities as a player."
“The players are incredibly resilient,” Knicks head coach Mike Brown said. “They’re getting better and better. They really pay attention to every little detail we give them.”
