Wales and Ghana drew dramatically 1-1 in an international friendly match at Cardiff City Stadium on Tuesday evening.
Leeds United winger Daniel James was named Man of the Match for his dominant performance on the right flank.
In this match, 28-year-old James became Wales' most threatening attacking threat. Throughout the game, he displayed tremendous attacking prowess, setting a match-high record of 9 touches inside the opponent's penalty area and completing the most shots on goal with 4.
In addition, James completed 12 accurate passes and won 5 duels. During the game, James' speed and dribbling caused great trouble for the Ghanaian defense, and he was unfortunately denied the goal twice: first, his header was saved by the Ghanaian goalkeeper and hit the post, and then his half-volley shot hit the crossbar after receiving a pass from his teammate.
Although Ghana took the lead in the first half, it was thanks to the continuous pressure from the attacking group led by James that Wales managed to equalize in the 93rd minute of stoppage time through Liverpool's young player Lewis Koumas.
Besides James winning Man of the Match, his three Leeds United teammates also performed admirably. Goalkeeper Carl Dalow made five saves to prevent the deficit from widening, center-back Joe Rodon orchestrated the defense with an exceptionally high passing accuracy of 95%, and midfielder Ethan Ampadu contributed four interceptions and two tackles.
