Villarreal have announced a contract extension with defender Carlos Romero. The Valencia defender will continue to play for the team until June 2031. This extension extends his contract by two seasons from its original expiry date of 2029.

Following his impressive performances during his two loan spells at Espanyol, the young defender will return to Villarreal's first team for the 2026/27 season. At that time, the team will compete in La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the Champions League, embarking on a new phase of multi-front campaigning.

Born on October 29, 2001, Carlos Romero, from Torrent, Spain, plays as a left-back. He possesses excellent physical fitness and offensive and defensive abilities and is one of the representative players cultivated by Villarreal's youth academy.
