Chiellini: Vlahovic will leave Juventus when his contract expires this summer.
Juventus's chief football strategist, Giorgio Chiellini, confirmed on Tuesday that Dušan Vlahovic will leave the club as a free agent when his contract expires this summer.
Juventus's chief football strategist, Giorgio Chiellini, confirmed on Tuesday that Dušan Vlahovic will leave the club as a free agent when his contract expires this summer.
The 26-year-old Vlahovic previously played for Partizan Belgrade and Fiorentina before being signed by Juventus in January 2022 for a hefty €85 million. A prominent representative of Serbian strikers of his generation, he has made 168 appearances for the Bianconeri, scoring 68 goals and providing 16 assists, and helped the team win the 2023/24 Coppa Italia.
However, Vlahovic's Juventus career will come to an end at the end of this season. It is rumored that the two sides parted ways due to a significant disagreement over salary.
According to his contract, Vlahovic currently earns €7 million annually after tax at Juventus. Gazzetta dello Sport explicitly states that the Serbian's team insisted on a raise to €8 million during contract renewal negotiations, but the club could only offer €6 million.
Regarding Vlahovic's departure, Chiellini told the Italian news agency AGI with a sense of helplessness: "I feel very sorry. He always cared about Juventus until the very last moment."
"He's a reliable person. Given his current salary demands, he won't stay in Italy. However, it's perfectly reasonable for him to seek another, better contract."
As of now, Vlahovic's next club has not been decided. He has been linked with transfers to several clubs, including Napoli, AC Milan, Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United, and Bayern Munich.
